120 Years Of Candle Making
Founded in 1897 by Mr Shearer and Mr Harvey on the outskirts of Glasgow, Shearer Candles is the UK’s longest established lifestyle candle company. Throughout its long history the business has always been family run. When the last of the Shearers retired in 1972 the present owners, the Barnet family, took over and is now * in its third generation.
Perfection Takes Time
While much has changed, the artisanal approach, attention to detail and craftsmanship first pioneered by Shearer and Harvey still underpins everything we do. Over a century later, Shearer Candles prides itself on delivering high quality candles that contain only the finest ingredients. Taking an average of six months from drawing board to first flame, we don’t rush things. Each candle has its own recipe that takes into account the reactions between shapes, waxes and scents.

It's also where our business began.
