Derived from the Leptospermum species of plant in New Zealand, these unique dressings have properties which are beneficial throughout all phases of wound healing. Med honey is an advanced wound care dressing promotes the removal of necrotic tissue and advance a wound toward healing. In a randomized controlled trial, the mean healing time was significantly faster for wounds treated with Med honey impregnated dressings when compared to conventional dressings. Under the supervision of a healthcare professional, Med honey antibacterial tulle dressing with Active Leptospermum Honey provides a moist environment conducive to wound healing and is indicated for lightly to moderately exuding wounds such as: diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers and leg ulcers of mixed etiology), pressure ulcers / sores (partial and full thickness), 1st and 2nd degree partial thickness burns, donor sites and traumatic and surgical wounds.
