Description
Aperol has been made from the same recipe since its genesis in 1919 and , while the precise ingredients remain a closely guarded secret , we know it includes a mix of sweet and bitter oranges , tart rhubarb , and a complex fusion of herbs and roots.
The resulting liqueur is celebrated for its taste and quality , cultivating refined motions of sharp citrus , delicate sweetness , and earthy , aromatic perfumes.
Traditionally devised as a pre-dinner aperitif , the slight bitterness of Aperol makes it perfect for rousing the appetite and enjoying alongside a luxury spread of appetisers. Nevertheless , Aperol’s low alcohol content of 11% means that it can be enjoyed at any time of day , from brunch until dinner (but preferably always in the sunshine).
Perfect Serve – Aperol Aperitivo can be served with lemonade or soda water , in Negronis or Cosmopolitans , but it’d be wrong not to savour it first and foremost in an Aperol Spritz:
75ml Prosecco
50ml Aperol
25ml Soda
Orange Slice
Fill a large wine glass with plenty of ice , pour in your prosecco and Aperol , and finally top off with a dash of soda water. Garnish with a thin slice of orange and enjoy!
