Leeds Bradford Airport has been closed overnight due to an “unforeseen issue with the runway”.
The closure affected arrivals and departures at the site, with passengers advised to check flight information with their airlines.
In an update at 02:00 BST, the airport said runway repairs were “progressing” and that it is expected to reopen at 06:00.
Passengers should arrive as planned unless an airline advises otherwise, the statement added.
Earlier, a spokesperson for the airport said: “The safety and comfort of the passengers travelling through our terminal is our number one priority. Our team is on the ground in the terminal to answer any customer queries regarding departures.”
